I’m really happy to announce that Young Mary’s will be participating in this year’s Africa at Spitalfields! On Monday 6 May, 2019 the famous Old Spitalfields Market in London is transformed into a sweeping African market complete with over 100 stalls of food, music, clothes, books...the whole shebang! And all either from or inspired by the continent.
Do you get why I'm excited? I can’t think of a better way to re-introduce Young Mary’s and connect with so many great people and brands. We’re gonna be striking lots of matches and starting lots of conversations and I cannot wait! 10am - 5pm Mon. 27 May, 2019 If you're in London, hope to see you there!

It’s really nice to be back in Abuja where Young Mary’s first got started.
The city’s changed so much since my first time living here in 2010. This morning I started my day with an excellent Ashtanga yoga class at a studio in Maitama, followed up by some delicious iced herbal tea tea at a cute café walking distance from home (that had free lightning fast WiFi). 10 years ago I could barely get signal using a dongle for my laptop and even 5 years ago I was the crazy chick hanging out upside down at the gym. How things have changed! There’s an up and running train station in Idu that will get you to Kaduna (a City in northern Nigeria) in 2 hours and several others are under construction throughout the city. They’ve also finally finished building the new airport so fingers crossed it actually opens up soon. None of this is candle related, but Abuja’s always been very special to me and it's Young Mary's starting point so it’s really nice to see the city start reaching its potential. I’m even thinking of putting together a guide book with all the new gems popping up. I mean, who doesn’t love herbal tea?? |
